So let me explain.
I left North America from LAX at approximately 12:10am PST on August 1, 2010 (Sunday). I arrived in Korea at ICN at approximately 3:45am (Korea time) on August 2, 2010.
It's basically like I lost a day.
I gained THREE because of all the
- walking and getting bags at the airport
- meeting new people
- walking around a new city
- getting lost
- meeting more people
- taxiing to other cities
- walking some more
- eating
- meeting even MORE people
- meeting some old friends.
It feels like three days have passed. I talk with others and we talk about things as if it happened yesterday or the day before, but really it happened this morning or just a few hours ago.
Some more bg info to help clear out any misunderstandings is that I am in Korea as a TaLK scholar.
TaLK is a Korean gov't program that grants scholarships to people who will teach English in Korea i.e. it's a part-time job.
Anyways, Korea is amazing. I'm glad I'm here. I'm still a little dazed and confused as to how I got it. It's like what they talked about in Inception. You never quite remember how you get to where you are in a dream. You're just kind of thrown into a situation. I was thrown into Korea ;D
